Since I was a teen I’ve always been into electronics and especially radios.
When I was about 7 years old my father bought a CB radio, which soon became a common hobby for father and son. As the hype of the early 90ties subsided and the internet came up I also strayed from the right path, but found back later as I went to the navy. Those guys in the radio room with their equipment made my eyes shine and sparkle.
At that time I bought my first HF radio for short wave listening and dug out the CB equipment again. Soon the decision was made to become a ham – though i procrastinated until 2010 to take the exam whcih resulted in my first license DO5SMB. In 2017, shortly before my son was born, I upgraded and received my full license, DL5SMB.
